Don't get frustated by the Danish MoT - they donøt know, what they are doing !
The spare wheel is legaly placed up front according to Danish regulations of 1972.
I've never had the problem with the MoT about that.
Breaking effort is calculated from the vehicles max. weight which is shown in the papers and written on the body.
If you don't want to find a other MoT-point, then send your MoT-report and a written complain to the MoT-HQ and ask for an explanation.
It might be, the MoT has been looking at the possibiliy, that any LR can haul a trailer with a maximum weight of 3.500 kg and then it makes sense,to take 3.500 kg for the breaking éffort calculation.
Next time you are going to see the MoT drive your LR with one feet on the break, so the drums are warm. That will increase the effort cause the break shoes will aligne (fit) better to the drum.
Hope my English is clear enough and please excuse any wrong spellings.
